Life has taken me down several paths.

I have been stitching since I was 10 years old. Once in college, I fell in love with the sculptural aspects of functional ceramic art. Fifteen years later, life decided I was to follow a different path, and my soap-making career started. Now, over 20 years later, I am back to my first love: stitching!

I create embroidery pieces with nature themes, combining free motion machine embroidery, hand stitch thread painting, hand stitch sculptural stumpwork, and acrylic painted backgrounds to create depth and texture.

Most of my pieces are worked from photographs that are transferred to material either by printing or painting. I combine 3 colors of floss for each stitch, whether machine or hand stitching. It creates a wonderful palette and adds to the depth even on a delicate flower petal.

Over the winter, the trees outside my studio window hold my focus. With amazing sunsets behind them, they became wonderful silhouettes that just needed to be stitched. Mother Nature is the true artist, I just do my best to represent her beauty.

Life is allowing me to live the life I always wanted …

Creating art one stitch at a time.
